The story behind the textile.

Patola is closely connected with the historic textile city of Patan in Gujarat. Traditional Patan Patola is renowned for double-Ikat weaving, in which both sets of yarn are resist-dyed before being aligned and woven into a carefully composed pattern.

Bold geometry and balanced colour have made Patola designs instantly memorable. It is a distinct textile heritage even though its celebrated weaving method belongs to the broader family of Ikat techniques.
