The story behind the textile.

Paithani takes its name from Paithan, a historic weaving centre in Maharashtra, while Yeola is also known for the craft today. In the traditional saree, silk grounds are enriched by colourful borders and decorative zari motifs.

Floral forms and ornamental borders carry much of the textile’s visual identity. A Paithani-inspired contemporary silhouette can keep that beauty visible in a new setting without replacing the rich story of its original form.
